I'm a mother. Wow. It has been a remarkable journey of learning, sleep deprivation, laughter, awe, tears, and so much love.
Baby Roo gets his nickname for loving to jump in his jumperoo. It's been a blessing to us. It tires him out, entertains him (& us!), and even has put him slept.
Roo has brought so much laughter into our house these days and for that I am so thankful. The tears, frustration and sleep deprivation really drowned out the first few months. After figuring out the milk situation, he began teething. Fuuuuuuck.
So it's nice to have a few days without teething waking us up this week. Ok it was only 2/7, but it's progress. He's a whole different sleeper at night when teeth are wrecking havoc in his mouth. He actually sleeps all night or only wakes up once vs. 2-4 times. Phew! However, number 7 is coming around the corner. I just want 7-8th tooth to pop in and move forward for a while without dealing with teething for a few weeks (preferably months)! Luckily he's a rock star napper now that he's only bottle feeding. He's slowly let us hold him while he drinks his bottle. That was a lovely transition or should I say abrupt transition. "Naw! I'm done nursing now. Oh and you can't hold me while you bottle feed me." He's opinionated that's for sure! He loves solids and is really getting good at picking up food with his fingers. He's so freaking adorable. It's so fun to hear him practicing talking and figuring out his voice even though that includes screaming. I'm so blessed to be able to enjoy these days home with him. He says mama. The crying when we leave the room is enduring but annoying.
He's rolling over from back to belly and back now. For a while he wasn't rolling back to his back and would be so upset. He'd only face plant to rest vs. putting his face to side. Ha! He realizes now that he can turn his head to rest.
I'm predicting he's going to be a biter. Ugh. He already bites me now. We're trying to stop it, but so far he's just trying relieve his teeth pain and doesn't get "ow"/"no" was about the biting. He just laughs or doesn't take note. Eek.
It's going to be so fun celebrating his first Christmas. He's a fan of all the lights and musically/dancing props.
